Wire-line core drilling tools can lift core from drill rods without picking up coring system. A complete set of wire-line drill tools include:Core barrel assembly, overshot assembly, drill rods, wireline winch, hoisting plug, circular wrenches etc. It has some advantages such as high penetration rate,high penetration rate, higher core recovery ratio, long bit life and lower labour intensity. The advantages can get more obvious with the increasing of drill hole depth.

Overshot is a necessary device in wireline drilling. It's dropped on a cable and directly couples onto and lift up the inner tube assembly, eliminating the need to couple and uncouple the rod string each time the core is retrieved.
